The image of a flower is beautiful, delicate, fragile, vibrant, and constantly changing. I strive to make my art the same; attractive and subtle, to make people feel truly content when they see it.

Often referred to as “Magnified Realism”, the rationale behind such close focus on the subject is to center on what is truly important, to take the time to look at the individual details of an object. A bouquet is beautiful as a whole, but enlarging the stamen several times lends great importance to the distinctiveness of that particular piece of that particular flower, and changes the original bouquet into an intimate and personal relationship with the uniqueness of a single bloom.

My ultimate goal is to encourage viewers to understand my emotions and point of view at any given moment simply by examining my paintings. I am currently focusing on several series of individual flowers, perfecting my technique while portraying my overall mood through use of specific colors and brush strokes as well as materials.

I frequently paint with oils on canvas. Oil grants the greatest flexibility with rich and vibrant color, smooth brush strokes, and a deeper, textured appearance, as well as adequate time to operate and make adjustments to my work.
